Recreation Program Leader 1

As a Recreation Program Leader 1, you would plan and coordinate organized discretionary time activities for incarcerated individuals in a facility of the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. This would include developing and directing a comprehensive recreational program of athletic and non-athletic activities; assessing the interests of offenders; developing procedures for and monitoring all activities to ensure compliance with established directives; soliciting offender and community involvement; providing instruction in and officiating at activities; preparing written reports; maintaining records of participants, programs and equipment; responsibility for issuance and repair of equipment and supplies; conducting tryouts and selecting teams and officials; and coordinating tournaments and events.
Job Function

Salary Range:
From $49202 to $62806 Annually
Minimum Qualification
Either 1. an Associates degree in physical education, reccreation, recreational therapy, or a closely related recreational field and 2 years of experience directing or assisting in the direction of a scheduled, organized recreational program; or 2. a Bachelors degree in physical education, recreation, recreational therapy or a closely related recreational field or 3. a Bachelors Degree and 2 years of expierence as described in 1.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
